Services

At West Virginia Arthritis we have a convenient modern facility in a beautiful setting designed to meet the needs of patients with arthritic problems. We have an experienced and knowledgeable staff who have many years of experience working with patients who have orthopedic and rheumatic disorders.

We have full x-ray capability in the office. We have the capability to import digital images from CAMC's department of radiology and others which will further add to your convenience.

We have an on-site infusion center for intravenous administration of the newer biologic drugs for the treating inflammatory arthritis. These treatments are always administered by an experienced registered nurse. We have over six years of experience with these infusions.

Dr. Howard does limit his practice to Rheumatology exclusively. This means that you will need a primary care physician to oversee your overall medical care. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Dr. Howard is an adult Rheumatologist although he will consult on adolescent patients age 13 and older by special arrangement with the consulting primary care doctor. Younger patients with arthritis should be referred elsewhere.

A definite asset of this practice is the presence of Bone and Joint Surgeons in the building. An informal "curbside" orthopedic consult on a rheumatology patient is as easy as a walk down the hall. This can be a great benefit for our patients.

Hospitals

Dr. Howard is on the medical staff at Charleston Area Medical Center where he frequently sees patients in consultation. He also provides consultation services at CAMC Teays Valley.
